“Badminton Needs More Women Involved” – Christina Aicardi

Coach of the Peru national team, Christina Aicardi, former player, competed in several tournaments and today concentrates all her energies in the training of her athletes and in the future challenges they will have to face.

Aicardi met badminton at the Regatas Lima Club where, through the sports academies, she began to practice our sport and since then she has not left it.

“Badminton gave me many good things, like being able to belong to a team and, above all, representing my country.”

As a player, Christina won several national and international tournaments, trained in China, Germany, Italy and Spain, and certainly has a lot to share with her players and the coaches she has had the opportunity to train through Shuttle Time Courses.

“As a coach, my goals are to obtain a Pan-American medal and spread badminton in my country, to contribute to develop a competitive level throughout the country.”

Her own objectives have led her to continue training as a coach with a postgraduate. The knowledge and experience that she acquires every day encourages her to keep going despite the difficulties. For this reason, Christina has a special message for those women who want to get involved in the sports world.

“It’s really worth it, since the sports world, especially badminton, needs more women involved.”
