In collaboration with 13 different schools and with the help of IBISA (Sports Institute of Aruba), the Aruba Badminton Federation started with the 2021 School Olympics.
A total of 150 schoolchildren registered and participated with 21 teams, in the Primary school and high school.
We started with a 3-week badminton camp, where the children learned the rules of the game, the correct grip and the basics to prepare them to compete a little better.
After the clinic they started with the tournament that took place at the Beach Sports Center on March 20 and 27, and all the children really competed with passion and were very competitive to represent their schools.
We would like to extend our thanks to IBISA, to all the teachers and of course to the parents who due to the Covid situation had to follow everything through the Facebook live broadcast, to all the volunteers who were simply amazing and always ready to help and, of course, to the children who participated with heart and soul.
Sport is good and badminton is even better… keep moving and we will all be healthier.
