Pan Am athletes from Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Guatemala and United States secured medals at XVIII Pan Am Games Lima 2019, after winning in Quarterfinales.
Canada will play 8 semifinals, Brazil 5, United States 4, Guatemala 2 and Cuba 1.
Pan Am Junior Champion 2019, Brian Yang defeated Pan Am Champion 2019, Osleni Guerrero and will face Kevin Cordon in Semifinals. Ygor Coelho and Jason Ho-Shue will face each other looking for the gold medal.
Michelle Li against Iris Wang and Rachel Honderich against Nikte Sotomayor will compete at Women’s Singles Semifinals.
Guatemala’s Nykte Sotomayor reached this stage after an very exciting match against Fabiana Silva.
Also, Fabricio Farias and Francielton Farias surprised in Men’s Doubles Quarterfinals after defeating Jonathan Solis and Rodolfo Ramirez in a tough match. Now they will face Ryan Chew and Phillip Chew.
Osleni Guerrero and Leodannis Martinez will face seeded one duo Jason Ho-Shue/Nyl Yakura, looking for change the color of the medal.
Olimpians Howard Shu and Paula Lynn Obanana won in Quarterfinals and will face Nyl Yakura/Kristen Tsai. At same time, Pan Am Mixed Doubles Champions, Joshua Hurlburt-Yu and Josephine Wu will face young athletes, Fabricio Farias and Jaqueline Lima.
In Women’s Doubles, Jaqueline Lima and Samia Lima reached a tough victory against locals Daniela Macias and Danica Nishimura, and will compete at Semifinals against Kuei-Ya Chen and Jamie Hsu.
Seeded one duo, Rachel Honderich and Kristen Tsai will face also brazilians Tamires Santos and Fabiana Silva.
Badminton Competition at Pan Am Games 2019 will be held from July 29 to August 2 at Sport Center 3 of the National Sport Village in San Luis, Lima, Peru.
