Canada’s young athlete, Brian Yang, started the year with great international success.

After winning a new gold for Canada at Pan Am Team 2019, and a bronze medal at Dutch Junior Open last week, Yang won the second place at the YONEX German Junior 2019, prestigious international tournament, reaching one more podium.

In this tournament, Brian faced outstandings athletes from Netherlands, China, Malaysia, and Thailand to reach semifinals. With a tough victory against seeded one, Syabda Perkasa Belawa from Indonesia (21-15, 20-22, 21-15), Yang reached the finals but could not beat Hyeon Seung Park (KOR).

One more time, Brian was de only non-Asian player who reached podium in this tournament, and now, he will continue preparing for next challenges looking for their best game to reach qualification for Tokyo 2020.
