Para badminton player, Katherine Revell Valli, is an outstanding athlete from USA and one of the best SH6 woman player in the world. She met badminton some years ago and has expectations of how far she can go in our sport.
Katherine is 17 years old and she got to know our sport after one of her teammates introduced her to it and invited her to practice it. After a few years, she is number 2 in singles and one in doubles at the SH6 World Ranking and recognizes all the good that badminton has given her.
“Badminton has given me an opportunity to not only travel the world with some of my best friends but also to compete on a level where we are all equal.”
Her goals for now lead her to focus on our sport and enjoy her time as an athlete. She is focused on continuing to improve and not only be among the best in the world, but to be able to represent her country far beyond.
“Right now my objectives are only to train and see how far I can take this sport.”
The problems have not been unrelated to her sports career, but the effort and focus allow her to continue with our sport.
“I do face an issue and it is getting court time to be able to train. In the USA it is so difficult to find places to play.”
As a woman, Katherine longs for all women to achieve their dreams, knowing how to face obstacles and fulfilling their dreams.
“It is already challenging being a women in sports today, we are looked upon differently. Please fulfill your dreams and continue the path because you need to show everyone what you can do. Just stay focused and continue to work hard.”
