The draws for the five badminton events at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games were conducted at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes, England today.
Men’s Singles
Pan Am Ranked N°1, Brian Yang, will face seeded 2 Chou Tien Chen (TPY) and Feliz Burestedt (SWE) in group P. Ygor Coelho is in group I with Kanta Tsuneyama (JPN) and Georges Julien Paul (MRI).
In Group C, tow Pan Am players will fight for the next round. Kevin Cordon and Lino Muñoz share the group among with Ng Ka Long Angus (HKG).
Timothy Lam will compete in group A against seeded 1 Kento Momota (JPN) and Heo Kwanghee (KOR). And Soren Opti (SUR) will face Shi Yu Qi (CHN) and Matthew Abela (MLT).
Michelle Li, seeded 9, and Beiwen Zhang, seeded 11, lead group F and H respectively. Li will compete against Nikte Sotomayor and Martina Repiska (SVK), while Zhang also shares group with Maria Ultina (UKR) and another pan am athlete, Fabiana Silva.
In group D, Daniela Macias will face Busana Ongbamrungphan (THA) and Kirstin Kuuba (EST). Haramara Gaitan will do the same in goup K against Kim Gaeun (KOR) and Yeo Jia Min (SGP).
Pan Am 2021 champions, Phillip Chew and Ryan Chew are in group C, when they will face duos from China, Japan and Germany.
In group D, Jason Ho-Shue and Nyl Yakura will compete against seeded 2 duo, Setiawan/Ahsan (INA) and duos from Malaysia and Korea.
Kristen Tsai and Rachel Honderich share group D with duos from Japan, Egypt and Netherlands.
Canadian duo, Joshua Hurlburt-Yu and Josephine Wu, will face duos from Thailand, France and Great Britain in gruop B.
