Brian Yang got his first ever silver medal at BWF World Tour event, after a great week competing at the Indonesia Masters 2024.
Yang managed to defeat world No.3 Li Shi Feng (CHN) in R32, and other outstanding players from India, Malaysia and Indonesia to reach his first World Tour final in his badminton career. In the final, Brian lost against Anders Antonsen (DEN) in a tough 3-games-match, 21-18, 13-21, 18-21.

“The main thing is just to have confidence in myself, because I’ve shown this week I have that level to compete with the top players. I should just try and ride on that confidence going into future tournaments. Definitely the most successful tournament of my career.” – Brian Yang on what the week taught him.
With this results Brian became the first Male Pan Am Athletes to reach a BWF World Tour medal ever.
Yang, Pan Am Games 2023 champion, will compete at the next World Tour event this week: Thailand Masters 2024. And will continue his 2024 Olympics Games pathway competing in the Pan Am Male & Female Cup 2024 next month.
