From January 30 to February 1, the III Badminton Inclusive Tournament was held at the Armando Mestre Coliseum in Santiago de Cuba, with the participation of 36 children from 8 provinces of Cuba.
This tournament, which also had support of unicef, allowed the participation of elementary school and special education children, which competed among them in Doubles and Mixed in matches of 11 points per game, contributing to their physical and mental development through badminton.
The Cuban provinces of Pinar del Rio, Havana, Artemisa, Villa Clara, Cienfuegos, Camagüey, Granma and Santiago de Cuba had their representatives in this tournament, which generated a great impact on the population and has contributed to a greater participation in the “Badmito” project, adaptation of Shuttle Time program for Cuba, which is developed in 67 municipalities of the country.
Physical Education teachers from 134 Cuban schools have been working with this program, which contributes to an integral development of the children and will allow to discover the future Cuban stars of our sport.
