Brazil and Venezuela for the AirBadminton World Cup

AirBadminton teams from Brazil and Venezuela qualified for the AirBadminton World Cup 2025 after reaching the final of our Pan Am AirBadminton Cup 2025, a Continental event held in Lima, Peru, on April 13.

Brazil team led Group B of the competition, defeating Mexico (60-43) and Guatemala (60-31) in the Group Stage. In Semifinals, they faced El Salvador and reached the final where they become the Champions of the Pan Am AirBadminton Cup 2025, qualifying to the BWF World Cup 2025 as first for the Pan Am region. In the previous edition, Brazil showed great AirBadminton performances, winning the Mixed Team Relay and Men’s Triples competitions in 2024, and the Men’s and Women’s Triple competition in 2023.

“We’re very happy. Last year, we won the silver medal in the women’s triples, and the men are three-time champions in that event. We’re thrilled to be able to participate and represent badminton in a different way in this new sport, and we’re very proud to have earned our spot at the World Cup. Now we’re going to train harder to be well-prepared for the World Cup and plan ahead, so everything goes smoothly.” — Tamires Santos from Brazil.

Venezuela AirBadminton team also made history, qualifying to the BWF World Cup 2025 after led Group B with victories against Peru (60-35) and El Salvador (60-45). In Semifinals, they defeat Mexico securing the spot despite the defeat against Brazil in the final. Venezuela’s previous participation in continental AirBadminton was very promising, achieving runner-up positions in triples in 2023.

“I’m very happy about qualifying for the AirBadminton World Cup. We’ve been preparing for this, and we were able to achieve it. I’d like to thank everyone who supported us, the authorities in Venezuela, and everyone who followed us on YouTube for every match. The challenge now is to continue training to represent our country well in the United Arab Emirates.” — Mariangel Garcia from Venezuela.

El Salvador managed to reach the bronze medal after defeating Mexico in the third place match. Both teams showed great dedication for AirBadminton and a good performance. El Salvador got the Women’s triples gold medal in 2024, while Mexico team won the bronze in the same event.

“We felt very happy and had a great time. We had a lot of fun chasing victory in every match. Communication as a team was key to achieving this medal; the support we received from each other helped us a lot. We’re leaving feeling happy, not only because of the result but because we enjoyed playing AirBadminton, and we’ll keep training to win gold next time.” — Javier Alas from El Salvador.
