Let’s know more about Andy Chong and his experience in Buenos Aires 2018:
How were the days in Buenos Aires?
“Stay in Buenos Aires was great. However, hard to predict the weather. Have to say that Buenos Aires is a beautiful city.”
Was the objective met?
“Objective was for my player to have fun playing and learning. Having my player win as many matches as possible by playing hard and playing smart. With that, my player won her group to get into the quarterfinals.”
For you, what has been the best of these Olympic Games?
“Seeing my player performed well and had fun playing and learning. For relay team event, I was the team manager for Team Alpha and I have built a good team work with awesome team spirit. My team consists of players from Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Bulgaria, Italy, Sweden, India, Canada and USA. They have become good friends and planning for reunion soon.”
After this experience, what’s next for you as a coach?
“There is always things to work on, in spite of many challenges. My players need more competition experiences, for example, knowing how and when to change the speed of the game, learning how to create opportunities and knowing when to finish the rallies.”
Andy will continue sharing his experiences in his country and leading Team USA in upcoming competitions like the World Junior Championships 2018.
