At what age did you start in Badminton?
“I started playing Badminton when I was 13 years old, beacuse of my uncle who used to play.”

In how many tournaments have you participated and which have been your best results?
“I have participated in more than 10 tournaments and my best results have been 2 silvers in Carebaco 2016, one bronze in Peru International U19 and a gold in Suriname Easter U19.”

To how many countries has Badminton taken you?
“Badminton has taken me to 8 countries: Peru, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Jamaica, Aruba and Guatemala.”

What anecdotes come to your mind when you remember your trips?
“I remember the many new people I met and the many things I have learnt while watching others play.”

Which are your short and medium term objectives as a Badminton player?
“I look to improve my game and get a scholarship to study outside of Guyana.”

Do you perform other activities in parallel to you career as a Badminton player, such as studies or work?
“Yes, I’m a first year student at University and I have a part time job as well as play basketball and hockey for clubs in Guyana.”

How sacrificed is it to train, study and work at the same time?
“It is difficult and requires a lot of focus and time that you have to dedicate”

In addition to sport satisfactions, what other thigs does badminton give you?
“It gives me the chance to travel and see new places.”

Which are your favorite hobbies?
“I like to playing badminton and other sports with my friends.”

Who was your first coach?
“My first coach was Gokarn Ramdhani.”

Which club do you represent?
“I represent the Yonex Badminton Club in Guyana.”

What is the hardest part of being a high level athlete?
“I think it is the dedication to training and working hard to get better.”

What would you say to people who want to practice badminton but see that it is not very popular in their country?
“Even though it is not popular, you should try it before and see if you like it.”
