How long have you been practicing Para-Badminton?
“I have been practicing Para-Badminton for 3 years. At first it took a while but now I’m doing quite well. I met badminton because they invited me to training. At first I was a bit shy because I did not know people but now I know the whole team and we are doing very well.”
In how many tournaments did you participate and which have been your best results?
“I have competed in approximately 40 national and international tournaments. My best results have been the bronze medals in Brazil and Colombia. In addition to the silver medal obtained at the V Pan Am Championships 2018.”
To how many countries has Para-Badminton taken you?
“Para-Badminton has taken me to Spain, the United States, Colombia and Brazil.”
Which are your short and medium term objectives as a Badminton player?
“My short-term goal is Lima 2019, to be on the podium and, God willing, to win a gold medal.”
In addition to sporting satisfactions, what other things does Badminton give you?
“Para-Badminton has given me a personal satisfaction. It has made me accept disability more than before. When I first started I did not accept disability very much now I see others compete, especially athletes who have more physical limitations, and I am very proud to belong to this sport.”
What message would you like to tell to those who don’t know yet Para-Baminton?
“I would tell them that Para-Badminton is an excellent sport that helps develop both the mental and physical parts, it is very competitive and always seeks to improve oneself.”
