Canadian Junior Champions

Canada’s young promise, Brian Yang, reached his first gold medals this 2019 at the Canadian Junior International 2019, held in Edmonton from March 19 to 24.

Our Youth Olympic Athlete won all the matches he played, reaching the gold medal in Singles, Doubles with Jonathan Chien (CAN) and Mixed Doubles with Catherine Choi (CAN).

Also, Talia Ng won 2 golds and 1 silver. Our Pan Am Junior Champion reached the podium top in Singles and Doubles with Catherine Choi. The Silver medal came in Mixed Doubles with Jonathan Chien.

Catherine Choi also won 2 gold medals and one bronze. Jonathan Chien won 1 gold and 1 silver. Wendy Zhang won 2 silver and one bronze just like Kevin Wang.

Canada is one of the Pan Am badminton powers and its athletes continue to gain experience and achieve results for their sporting development. Canada won the XXIII Pan Am Mixed Team Championships 2019 with some of the athletes present in this tournament who are now preparing to play the XXIII Pan Am Individual Championships 2019 and defend the colors of Canada in the next Sudirman Cup 2019.
