Trinidad & Tobago Badminton Association conducted Shuttle Time Teachers Courses in Trinidad W.I. during the last month.
The first course was held on September 29 and 30, with certification of 9 new badminton teachers. The participants of this course were persons that are attached to clubs registered with the Trinidad and Tobago Badminton Association (TTBA). Also, some parents whose children are actively playing Badminton and students currently pursuing a career in sport, participated in this training.
The other teachers course was held on October 13, with 4 club coaches as audience. Recently the Trinidad & Tobago Badminton Association established a new rule indicating that all coaches must be certified at least as Shuttle Time Teachers in order to be able to coach their athletes at national competitions. So, there are some coaches interested in this training and the courses provide them more oportunities in their jobs.
Professor Solangel Guzman was in charge to led these courses and all the participants have gained greater understanding regarding the teaching of Badminton through fun games and exercises that encourage learning and participation.
