Pan Am athletes from Guatemala, Mexico and host Brazil took the podiums at Brazil International Series 2019, held in Campinas, from October 10 to 13.
Jaqueline Lima, medalist at Pan Am Games 2019, got 3 gold medals. She won the final against Haramara Gaitan (MEX) in an exciting match. Lima reached the final after defeating Nikte Sotomayor (GUA) in Semifinals, while Gaitan did the same after deafeating seeded 1 Fabiana Silva (BRA).
Lima also won the crown in Women’s Doubles with Samia Lima and in Mixed Doubles with Fabricio Farias.
Guatemala’s star Kevin Cordon, won the gold in Brazil after defeating Mexico’s Lino Muñoz in two games (21-19, 21-19) in the final match. Cordon reached this instance after his victory in semifinals against Fabio Caponio (ITA). Muñoz also had a great performance during the tournament winning the silver medal. Caponio and Jonathan Matias (BRA) completed the podium.
Our athletes will continue adding points in their Road to Tokyo 2020, participating of the next Pan Am Circuit 2019 event: X Santo Domingo Open.
