Within the framework of the Youth Olympic Games, held in Buenos Aires, Badminton Pan American Confederation (BPAC), represented by President Vishu Tolan, and the president of Pan American University Sports Organization (FISU America), Mr. Alim Maluf Neto, signed a cooperation agreement which determines the participation of badminton in the FISU America Games.
After signing the agreement, Mr. Tolan stated that “the partnership will include Development activities where we can work together both the Universities and Badminton Pan Am, and Events where we can coordinate a successful participation”.
Also, FISU America president said: “In 2020 we will have the University Sports Games and, from now on, badminton is part of our program, which will be a great development force for badminton and the university system”.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the aforementioned Presidents of Badminton Pan Am and FISU America, as well as the BWF Chair of Development, Mr. David Cabello, and BPAC Chair of Development, Mr. Jose Del Busto, who said that “we are really happy to have signed this agreement with FISU America, we as a Pan American Confederation seek to continue strengthening the structure for athletes and coaches in the education system and we hope that this is well taken advantage of by each of our partners”.
Last July, Badminton Pan American Confederation and FISU America held a meeting in Sao Paulo that marked the beginning of this University Badminton agreement at Pan American level. Victoria Montero, olympic badminton player, and Pilar Carrillo, BPAC COO, participated in this meeting with great success.
