Best Players – Pan Am 2021

Outstanding players from the region will compete at the XXIV Pan Am Individual Championships 2021, and the draws are ready for each event.

Who will be the champions?

 

The World Ranking determines the seeds for each event. The draw to know the first matches has already been carried out and you can find more details in the following link.

 

For Men’s Singles, Jason Ho-Shue and Brian Yang lead the event as seeded 1 and 2 respectively. But also Pan Am Games Champion Ygor Coelho (3) and local star Kevin Cordon (4) will fight for the crown. In this event, also Lino Muñoz and Timothy Lam will seek the podium and to add points for the Olympic Games Qualification.

Beiwen Zhang is a big surprise in this championships. As seeded 1, Zhang is favourite to reach her first Pan Am gold in her first participation at Pan Am Championships. Iris Wang, Pan Am Games medalist, will fight for the crown along with Fabiana Silva, Daniela Macias and Haramara Gaitan who also are looking for points in the Road to Tokyo 2020 Ranking.

Canadian duo Jason Ho-Shue and Nyl Yakura is the seeded 1 duo in Men’s Doubles but the also prominent Chew brothers from United States are seeking the Pan Am crown.

Rachel Honderich and Kristen Tsai will seek to repeat the Women’s Doubles first place obtained at Pan Am Games 2019, but they will have to face duos that are looking to add ooints in the Road to Tokyo Ranking, among them, Daniela Macias and Danica Nishimura.

In Mixed Doubles, the seeded 1 duo Joshua Hurlburt-Yu and Josephine Wu want to reach the podium top again, like other duos Mattew Fogarty/Isabel Zhong (2), Jonathan Solis/Diana Corleto (3) and Diego Mini/Danica Nishimura (4).

This event will award world ranking points as a Continental Event and is part of the qualification period for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, therefore, we expect everyone to participate in this important event.
