Badminton Pan Am and Americas Paralympic Committee establish a Memorandum of Understanding expressing mutual interest in the development of Para badminton in the region.
Within the framework of the Pan Am Para badminton Championship 2022, held in Cali, Colombia, the Pan Am Badminton Confederation (BPAC) and the Americas Paralympic Committee (APC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a means to enhance their mutual interests and agree upon a framework for long-term strategic cooperative support for the benefit of Pan American Para badminton
The president of BPAC, Mr. Vishu Tolan and the president of APC, Mr. Julio César Avila signed the MoU accompanied by Mr. Pilar Carrillo, Member of the Council of the Badminton World Federation, Mr. Zarko Cukic, Deputy Chair of BPAC Events, Mr. Dario Tigreros, President of the Colombian Badminton Federation and Mr. German Valdez, COO of BPAC.
Para badminton Players who are participating in the championship joined the reunion to meet the APC President highlighting our sport and the benefit that this MoU will also bring to the athletes.
Working together, Badminton Pan Am and APC will strive to develop a plan to increase the growth, quality and frequency of Para badminton participation through increased coaching quality, more frequent inclusive training and competition opportunities to ensure people with physical impairment realize the positive mental, physical and social benefits of badminton.
