Brazil International Series 2023 Champions

Pan Am Players from Chile, Guatemala, Mexico and host Brazil took the podiums at the Brazil International Series 2023, held in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil, from August 9 to 13.

Olympic Semifinalist Kevin Cordon won the gold medal after great matches. Starting as seeded 1, Cordon defeated players from Brazil, Mexico and Spain to reach the final where he defeated local Ygor Coelho in a 3-games-match. Jonathan Matias (BRA) and Kicklitz (GER) won the bronze medals.

Jaqueline Lima and Samia Lima won the gold in Women’s Doubles. The local duo began as favorites in this event and defeated experienced Haramara Gaitan/Sabrina Solis (MEX) in the final. The bronze medals were for Camila Astorga/Rosa Quilodran (CHI) and Nikte Sotomayor/Diana Corleto (GUA).

In Mixed Doubles, Davi Silva and Sania Lima started as seeded 2 duo and won the gold after defeating duos from Chile, Brazil and Guatemala to reach the final where they defeated Mammeri/Mammeri (ALG) in straight games (21-12, 21-15). Jonathan Solis/Diana Corleto (GUA) and Fabricio Farias/Jaqueline Lima (BRA) reached the 3/4 positions.

Fabrico Farias and Davi Silva also won the silver medal in Men’s Doubles. Both reached the final after defeating duos from England, Algeria, Brazil and Guatemala but losing against Mammeri/Medel (ALG) in the final match. Benjamin Bahamondez/Alonso Medel (CHI) and Anibal Marroquin/Jonathan Solis (GUA) won the bronze medals of the event.

Haramara Gaitan and Jeisiane Alves reached the 3/4 places in Women’s Singles, event which was dominated by Kate Ludik (MAU).

The Pan Am Circuit 2023 will continue with the Trinidad & Tobago International 2023 next week.
