Canada’s stars took the podiums at 2019 YONEX/K&D Graphics International Challenge, held in Orange County, USA, from December 17 to 21.

Joshua Hurburt-Yu and Josephine Wu won the Mixed Doubles Crown after defeating Lu Chia Pin/Lin Wan Ching (TPY) by 21-18 in two games. Canadian duo reached the final after defeating athletes from Chinese Taipei, United States and Thailand. Kueia-Ya Chen (USA) with Lu Chia Hung (TPY), and Nyl Yakura/Wen Yu Zhang (CAN) reached the 3/4 position.
Rachel Honderich & Kristen Tsai in Women’s Doubles and Nyl Yakura & Jason Ho-Shue in Men’s Doubles got the second places with a great perfomances. Honderich/ Tsai defeated athletes from Chinese Taipei, United States, Thailand and Brazil reaching the finals but losing against Australia duo Mapasa/Somerville in a 3-games match (14-21, 21-9 and 21-18). Also, Yakura/Ho-Shue defeated duos from Australia, Chinese Taipei, United States and Indonesia but losing in the Finals against Chen/Lin (TPY) in a tough match (23-21, 22-20). Pan Am Athletes Samia Lima & Jaqueline Lima (BRA), Lauren Lam (USA) with Yu Chieh (TPY), Sattawat Pongnairat (USA) with Ferdinand Surbakti (INA) reached Semifinals in Doubles.
Jason Ho-Shue and Brittney Tam also reached the second places in Singles after a good victories. Jason defeated athletes from United States, Belgium, Ukraine and Israel, and Brittney did the same with athletes from United States, Czech Republic and Wales. Lauren Lam and Iris Wang (USA) reached Semifinals in Women’s Singles.
