Champions in Chile – Pan Am Circuit 2023

Pan Am Players from Argentina, Canada, Jamaica, Paraguay, Peru and host Chile won medals at the Chile International 2023, Future Series event part of the Pan Am Circuit 2023 which was qualified as a test event for the next Pan Am Games Santiago 2023.

Samuel Ricketts and Tahlia Richardson took the podium top in Mixed Doubles after defeating Santiago Otero/Iona Gualdi (ARG) in the final, in a 3-games-match. Peruvian duos Sharum Durand/Namie Miyahira and Gonzalo Castillo/Estefania Canchanya won the bronze medals.

In Men’s Doubles, Samuel Ricketts won the gold along with Kelvin Koon (ENG) after defeating duos from Chile, Peru and Paraguay/Canada. Leo Lee (PAR) and Wong Yan Kit (CAN) reached the silver medal while Franco Motto/Santiago Otero (ARG) and Gonzalo Castillo/Jose Rendon (PER) took the 3/4 places of the event.

Estefania Canchanya and Valeria Chuquimaqui (PER) won the gold in Women’s Doubles after defeating Sofia Junco/Rafaela Silva (PER) in the final. Locals Vania Diaz and Rosa Quilodran reached the 3rd place.

USA players Kevin Arokia and Justin Ma won the silver and bronze medal in Singles respectively. Fabio Caponio from Italy defeated Arokia in a 3-games final match (21-19, 25-27, 21-19).

Ines Castillo (PER) was the only Pan Am player in the Women’s Singles podium. Ines started the event as a seeded 1, defeating players from Ecuador, Jamaica and Italy but losing the final against Yasmine Hamza (ITA) in straigh games.

The Pan Am Circuit 2023 will continue with the XIII Santo Domingo Open 2023 and the Peru Future Series during June.
