Champions in Guatemala – Pan Am Circuit 2023

Pan Am Players from Canada, Ecuador, Mexico, United States and host Guatemala, won the medals of the V Guatemala Future Series 2023, Pan Am Circuit event held from June 20 to 25 in Guatemala City.

Locals Jose Luis Granados/Antonio Ortiz won the silver medal in Men’s Doubles. The seeded one duo defeated pairs from Guatemala and Canada to reach the final but lost against As Sidiq/Nurhabibu (INA) in straight games of the final match. Kevin Barkman/Victor Ho (CAN) and Yeison Del Cid/Christopher Martinez (GUA) reached the bronze medals.

Mark Shelley Alcala (USA) defeated players from Mexico, Brazil, Canada and Indonesia to reach the final where he lost against Muhammad Nurhabibu (INA). The bronze medals were for As Sidiq and Sugawara from Indonesia and Japan respectively.

Vanessa Garcia (MEX) and Maria Delia Zambrano (ECU) won the bronze medals in Singles after defeating local players showing great performance but losing in Semifinals against japanesse players.

Paula Lozoya and Fatima Rio (MEX) reached the 3/4 places of the Women’s Doubles event after losing in Semifinals against Sudo/Yamakita (JPN), duo which won the gold. Also locals Mariana and Alejandra Paiz reached the semifinals of the event.

In Mixed Doubles, Christopher Martinez /Mariana Paiz (GUA) and Alvaro Rio/Fatima Rio (MEX) reached the semifinals and bronze medals of the event. Japanesse players Tanioka/Taguchi and Matsukawa/Yamakita won the gold and silver medals respectively.

Pan Am Circuit 2023 will continue with the YONEX Canada Open 2023, BWF Tour Super 500, during the first week of july. Good luck to everyone!
