Champions in Peru – Pan Am Circuit 2022

Pan Am players from Brazil, Canada, Guatemala and United States won medals at the Peru Challenge 2022, Pan Am Circuit event held in Lima, Peru, from November 16 to 20.

Olympian Paula Lynn Cao Hok along with Lauren Lam (USA) won the crown in Women’s Doubles after defeating duos from Brazil and Spain to reach the final where they defeated Annie and Kerry Xu (USA) in straight games (21-19, 21-18). Seeded 1 duo, Catherine Choi/Josephine Wu (CAN) and Srivedya Gurazada/Ishika Jaiswal (USA) wonthe bronze medals.

In Mixed Doubles (featured image), USA players added one more gold medal. Seeded 2 duo, Vinson Chiu and Jennie Gai defeated players from Canada and Peru to reached the final and defeated seeded 1 duo Ty Lindeman/Josephine Wu (CAN) in a 3-games-match (22-20, 13-21, 23-21). Kevin Lee/Eliana Zhang (CAN) and Davi Silva/Sania Lima (BRA) took the 3/4 places of the event.

Jason Ho-Shue won the Men’s Singles title defeating other olympians along the way as Ygor Coelho (BRA) in semifinals and Luis Enrique Peñalver (ESP) in the finals. The bronze medals were for Kevin Cordon and Coelho.

Ho-Shue also won the gold in Men’s Doubles along with Joshua Hurlburt-Yu. The canadian duo defeating pairs from Algerian, United States, Mexico and Canada to reach the final. Adam Dong and Nyl Yakura (CAN) won the silver medal while Kevin Lee/Ty Lindeman (CAN) and Král/Mendrek (CZE) reached the bronze medals,

Lauren Lam (USA) was the only pan am athlete in the Women’s Singles podium. She reached semifinals after defeating players from Germany, Spain and France but lost against Kaoru Sugiyama (JPN) who won the gold. Clara Arzumendi (ESP) won the silver medal while Polina Buhrova (UKR) and Lam reached the 3/4 places of the event.

The Pan Am Circuit 2022 will continue with the XIII Mexican International 2022 in November and the IV El Salvador International in December.
