Champions of the III Dominican Open 2021

Pan Am players from Brazil, Colombia, United States and host Dominican Republic took the podiums at the III Dominican Open 2021, held in Santo Domingo past October.

Brazilians dominated all the events where Pan Am Games 2019 medalists, Fabrico Farias, Jaqueline Lima, Francielton Farias and Samia Lima returned to the podiums top.

Fabricio and Jaqueline won the Mixed Doubles crown after defeating the also brazilian duo Artur Silva and Samia Lima. Izak Batalha / Jeisiane Alves (BRA) and Yamit Gironza / Maria Julieth Perez (COL) reached the 3/4 places of the event.

In Women’s Doubles, Jaqueline/Samia defeated duos from Dominican Republic and Brazil to reach the gold, while Farias brothers did the same in Men’s Doubles event. Silver medals were for brazilians also, Sania Lima/Tamires Santos and Izak Batalha/Artur Silva respectively. Jeisiane Alves/Juliana Viana Vieira (BRA) along with local duos Generoso Castillo/Miguel Martinez, Anthony Quiroz/Ernick Zorrilla and Daniella Acosta/Lia Lockward won the bronze medals of both events.

Jonathan Matias won the Men’s Singles event. He defeated players from USA and Brazil to reach the final where a 3-games-match defined the winner. Donnians Oliveira (BRA) won the silver medal while Willian Guimaraes (BRA) and Andrew Tan (USA) reached the 3/4 places.

Juliana Viana Vieira won the crown of Women’s Singles event after defeating players from Costa Rica, Mexico, and Brazil. In the final, she defeated Samia Lima in straigh games (21-9,21-17) winning the gold. Juliana Giraldo (COL) and Sania Lima (BRA) won the bronze medals of the event.

The Pan Am Circuit 2021 continues with the II Guatemala Future Series 2021, where Pan Am Players will compete for the medals and reach more points in the Ranking.
