Pan Am Players from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Peru and United States won medals at the XXXI YONEX Pan Am Junior 2023, individual event held in Lima, Peru, from July 17 to 21.

Micah Henares Cruz (U15) and Rithik Rasamsetti (U13) won the triple-crown in their categories, winning gold in Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
United States of America dominated all U19 podiums, with Ryan Ma and Veronica Yang as the most outstanding players. Both, Ma and Yang, won the singles title and mixed doubles crown in the event. In this category the medals were won by players from Peru, USA and Canada.
For U17, Canadian players reached 4 of the 5 gold medals. Emma Meng won in Mixed Doubles and Singles, while Mengyao Tian won the gold in Women’s Doubles and silver in singles. United states players add medals for their country in this event, with 1 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze. Athletes from Peru and Brazil also reached the podium in this category (WD bronze medalists).
Micah Henares Cruz (USA) won the triple-crown in U15, winning gold in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Another outstading players was Evan Liu, who won gold in Singles, silver in Doubles and bronze in Mixed Doubles. The U15 podiums had the presence of Canadian and Mexican players in Doubles podiums (bronze medals).
United States players also dominated the U13 category, with all gold and silver medals. Rithik Rasamsetti (USA) was the most outstanding of the category after winning the crown in Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Joanne Li also has a great tournament with 2 golds (Singles and Doubles). Canadian athletes reached bronze medals in Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles.

The award ceremony was led by Mr. Armando Bruni, president of Badminton Pan Am, along members of the Executive Committee of Badminton Pan Am, Mr. Renzo Manyari, President of the Peruvian Olympic Committee, and Mr. Gonzalo Castillo, president of Badminton Peru Federation.
During the ceremony, Referees and Assesors were recognized for their work during the event. Also, Umpires who approved the BPAC Certification/Accreditation courses received a certificate, and the Peru Badminton Federation received a recognition for the organization of the XXXI YONEX Pan Am Junior Championships 2023.
