Team Canada won the Pan Am Cup 2025, after an exciting Final tie against the United States of America, showing the amazing level of play at our Pan Am Continental Mixed Team event held in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

The Finals of our Pan Am Cup 2025 started with the Mixed Doubles match, in which Olympian Jennie Gai and Presley Smith defeated Ty Lindeman and Crystal Lai in straight games (21-17, 21-12) giving USA the first point of the tie.
Brian Yang OLY add the first point for Canada after defeating Enrico AsunciĆ³n (21-3, 21-12) in 27 minutes of play.
The third match was the most exciting because Kevin Lee/ Ty Lindeman (CAN) and Chen Zhi Yi / Presley Smith (USA) showed great play and made the audience enjoy 3 exciting games. Finally, the Canadian duo won 2-1 (21-15, 18-21, 21-19), granting their team the second point.
Michelle Li sealed Canada’s victory after defeating Lydia Chao in straight games (21-10, 21-8) and marked the 14th title in a row and 21 in the history of the competition for Canada.

Team Canada reached the final after led Group A with victories against Mexico (5-0) and Cuba (5-0) and defeated Guatemala (3-1) in the semifinals.
USA team led Group B with victories against Guatemala (4-1) and Costa Rica (5-0), and defeated Brazil in Semifinals by 3-1.

While Brazil, led Group C after defeating El Salvador (5-0) and Peru (4-1), and Guatemala in the third place match by 3-0.

The award ceremony was led by Mr. Jose Del Busto, Deputy president of BPAC, Mrs. Pilar Carrillo, BWF Council Member, Mr. Javier Orozco, President of FEMEBA, Mr. David Cabello, Chair of Development for BWF, Mr. Arturo Fernandez, Director of IDEA, and Mr. Jesus Gutierrez, president of Badminton Aguascalientes.
Recognition were given to FEMEBA, IDEA, Referees, and local Staff in order to highlight their commitment in the organization of this Pan Am Cup 2025.
