Para badminton players secured medals for our region at TOTAL BWF Para badminton World Championships 2019, held in Basel, Switzerland.

Brazil’s star Vitor Tavares reached Semifinals in Men’s Doubles with Miles Krajewski and in Mixed Doubles with Ruby Fernandez. Also, Giuliana Poveda and Katherine Valli got a medal and will look for the gold in Women’s Doubles SS6. Our players will play the Semifinals this Saturday afternoon.
Also, some Pan Am athletes will compete in Quarterfinals this saturday, seeking to secure a medal.
Pilar Jauregui will face Tingting Xu (CHN) in Quarterfinals of Women’s Singles WH2, Miles Krajewski, Jayci Simon, Katherine Valli, Giuliana Poveda and Vitor Tavares also reached quarterfinals in Singles SS6 and Eduardo Oliveira/Rogerio De Oliveira will also look for the medal in Men’s Doubles SU5.
World Ranked number 1, Giuliana Poveda will play in Women’s Singles QF and Women’s Doubles QF, with Katherine Valli. In Singles, Giuliana will face Yasmina Eissa (EGY) looking for the final, where she will probably face the defending champion, Rachel Choong (ENG) seeking to overcome the silver medal that Giuliana won in the previous edition.
