For the fourth time, Badminton Francophone Association (AFB) and BPAC work together to deliver a set of activities for the badminton development in our francophone region.
This year, 22 athletes and 9 coaches coming from French Guiana, Haiti, Martinique, Saint Lucia and Guadeloupe gathered together on Guadeloupe from February 22nd till 28th to benefit from this project.
Two activities ran in parallel during these five days:
- At Le Crep Antilles Guyane facilities – A training camp for young atletes that ended with a day and a half team tournament. Following the training sessions was Prof. Romain Youinou (FRA). This was also a good opportunity for coaches to share Romain’s experience and knowledge. At the tournament, Martinique could not retain their winner position last year. Guadeloupe (Team A) took the first place, in a well fought set of games, defeating Martinique with a final score of 3-2.
- At TiBad facilities – A BWF Shuttle Time Teachers Course, under the guidance of Prof. Didier Nourry (FRA), member of the Ligue of Badminton of Guadeloupe, worked for 2 full days with 21 very enthusiastic and active teachers and coaches seeking BWF certification and very motivated to take badminton into the schools.
