Pan Am Players
Outstading participation was reached by all Pan Am Para badminton athletes during Paris 2024, Pilar Jauregui (WH2), Jaime Aranguiz (WH2), Giuliana Poveda (SH6), Rubi Fernandez (SH6), Yuka Chokyu (WH1, Daniele Torres (WH1), Rogerio Oliveira (SL4).
“I had some very interesting and good matches in group stage. The two opponents I lost to were the ones who won the silver and bronze medals, so I felt at peace with what I showed on the court. I’m going to keep working and training with Los Angeles in mind” – Pilar Jauregui (PER).
“It’s been incredible to be here. It’s my fourth paralympic games and my first time competing in Para badminton. I have enjoyed playing in front of a packed audience. I’m friends with Sujirat, she always has lovely things to say”- Yuka Chokyu (CAN).
“I felt excited and a bit nervous since it was my first time at the Paralympic Games. The most beautiful part was when they announced my name as I walked onto the court, and the courts and shuttles had ‘Paris 2024’ written on them – it was all amazing. It was a dream come true. I can say that I fulfilled one of my dreams, een though I didn’t win a medal, and I’m very happy about that.”- Ruby Fernandes (PER).
Congratulations to all for being part of the Pan Am Para badminton history!!!
