1. At what age did you start in Badminton and how did you get into this sport?

“I started at age 8 when I got into Badminton summer classes.”

  1. In how many tournaments did you participate and which were your best results?

“I do not remember exactly, but I think more than 70 and my best result was to be South American and Pan American champion.”

  1. To how many countries has Badminton taken you?

“I think that I have traveled to all America, some countries in Asia and Europe.”

  • What anecdotes comes to your mind when you remember your trips?
  • “Once in Brazil, we were there for Halloween, I was the youngest of the team and out of nowhere came the idea of dressing as serial killers and scare the trainers.”

    5. How does it feel to be the first racket in Peru?

    “It feels strange but incredible, I know that when I play, many people comes to see me and I have to prove them why I am the number one in Peru. I want to go in search of more and be the best.”

    6. Which are your short and medium term objectives as a Badminton player?

    “Repeat the gold medal in the Bolivarian Games and qualify to the Pan American Games here in Peru on 2019.”

  • Do you do perform other activities in parallel to your career as an athlete, such as study or work?
  • “I’m studying administration, I’m in the middle of my career.”

    8. How sacrificed is it to train and study at the same time?

    “Fortunately, I am very organized so I do not go wrong, the only problem is when I have to travel, because I get late with homework and exams.”

    9. How do you keep commitment and discipline in your life?

    “Being punctual, organized, responsable, I started traveling alone since I was 10 years old so I learned to be responsible since I was little.” 

    1. Apart from sporting satisfactions, what other things did badminton give you?

    “Meet people from different countries, different cultures and meals, meet other players and learn from them.”

    11. Which are your favorite hobbies?

    “When I’m free, I sleep a lot and I read romantic novels.”

    12. Who was your first coach?

    “Claudia Rivero and Javier Jimenez.”

    13. Which club do you represent?

    “Regatas Lima Club.”

    14. Is Badminton popular in your country?

    “It is being popular but there are still people who do not know about it.”

    15. How many times did you participate in a Junior Pan Am Championships?

    “I have participated since I was 11 years old until 19.”
