  1. At what age did you start in Badminton and how did you get into this sport?

“I started playing at 3 years old, in a social project of my father, which consisted of taking Badminton to the Favelas in Rio”.

2.-In how many tournaments have you participated and what have been your best results?

“I have participated in more than 100 tournaments and my best result was to win 6 times the Pan-American Junior tournament and also qualify to play in the Olympics”.

3.-To how many countries has Badminton taken you?

“I have traveled to more than 40 countries. I know all of America, some countries of Europe and Asia”.

4.-What did it mean for you to go to the Olympics?

“When I went to the Olympics, I felt the greatest honor, to be part of the most important event in the world and have the duty to represent my country and give all of it, is something that can´t  be described”.

5.-  How does it feels to be the best player in Brazil?

“It feels incredible, I love to be part of this moment in the world where Badminton is growing, not only like a sport but also as a lifestyle, I can travel and show to the world that the level of Brazil and America is growing and could be the best”.

6.- What anecdotes come to your mind when you remember your trips and career path?

“The only thing that comes to my mind is to have been part of the Olympics and to demonstrate what I am”.

7.- What are your short and medium term objectives as a badminton player?

“I want to be within Top 30 of the world and be able to qualify again for the Olympics”.

8.- Do you perform other activities in parallel to your career as an athlete, such as studies or work?

“Since I graduated from school, I only play Badminton, but when I reach my objective, I want to study Physical Education and teach all my knowledge”.

9.- How do you keep commitment and discipline in your life?

“It is very complicated, I studied in a very good school in Brazil and when I wanted to play in the Youth Olympic Games and my dad said no, I had to moved to a distant school to concentrate on studies and not on sport”.

“In fact, many things, respect, being humble, has helped me to grow and be the person who I am”.

10.- Apart from sporting satisfactions what other things did Badminton give you?

” Badminton has given me many opportunities like going to the Olympics, meeting important people, being able to travel around the world, and above all, being able to make friends and count on them at any time”.

  1. Which are your favorite hobbies?

“Go to the beach, play soccer with my friends and eat, I love to eat.”

“My dad, Sebastian Diaz de Oliveira”.

  1. Which club do you represent?

“Miratus”.

  1. Is Badminton popular in your country?

“Now it is more popular than before, it is growing and a lot”.
