When I was a child I spent a lot of time playing soccer and many other games.
In 2001 I participated in a course for universities conducted by the Peruvian Badminton Federation. The instructor was German Valdez. I was amazed by everything — the rackets, the shuttlecock and the movements, all seemed simply spectacular.

Badminton is the most important thing after my family. Becoming a badminton coach is one of the most exciting things to have happened to me. Working with athletes and helping to improve their lifestyle has been a priceless experience.
Iโve had to work a lot since I wasnโt a player and had to learn everything from scratch and correct myself every time I realised I was wrong.
Iโm dedicated to being a coach and promoting the development of badminton. It was enriching to work in the academy of the federation in the National Stadium in 2015 where I was able to make decisions and forge a style of work.

For me badminton is a sport with a lot of cognitive load. It develops a lot of decision making skills and strengthens self-esteem.

From the first course until now many boys and girls have become deeply involved with badminton. We now have more academies and more people engaged with it.

Iโve always been dedicated to improving the details in the athletes and itโs the first thing I talk about with aspiring coaches
