Geraldo Oliveira and Romulo Soares won medals for our region at Uganda Para-Badminton International 2018, tournament held from April 25 to 29 in Kampala, Uganda, with more than 80 para-badminton athletes.

Geraldo Oliveira, category SU 5, won the silver medal in doubles with Sugil Abbas (IND) and the bronze medal in singles. Oliveira and Abbas played 3 matches in doubles, winning 2 of them and losing to the Malaysian duo Liek / Harol by 21-12 and 21-17. In Singles, Oliveira led Group C, qualifying for Semifinals where he could not beat Sugil Abbas (IND) and fell by 23-21, 16-21 and 15-21, after 35 minutes of play.
Rómulo Soares reached semifinals in WH2 singles after winning in the 3 games of the Group Stage and won in Quarterfinals against Seyi Dada (NGR). Already in Semifinals, Soares could not overcome the pre-classified 2, Arnir Levi (ISR), and thus won the bronze medal.
