Our Pan Am champions won medals at the NSDF Royal Beach Cliff BWF Para badminton World Championships 2024, event held in Pattaya, Thailand, with participation of Pan Am players from Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and United States.

Pilar Jauregui (PER) won the silver medal in Singles and a bronze medal in Mixed Doubles. Jauregui, as defending champion, started the competition as seeded 1 in Singles WH2, and led Group A after defeating players form Australia and Egypt. Then, Pilar reached the final after strong victories against Ginns (AUS) in Quarter-Finals and Yamazaki (JPN) in Semifinals and got the silver medal after losing against Liu Yu Tong (CHN).
Jauregui also got the bronze medal in Mixed Doubles along with Yuri Ferrigno (ITA). They defeated pairs from Cezch Republic/Poland, and Thailand, but lost in semifinals against Qu Zi/Liu (CHN) reaching the 3/4 places of the event.
In SH6 our Parapan Am Games champions shinned in exciting matches.
Miles Krajewski and Jayci Simon (USA) won the bronze medal in Mixed Doubles after defeating players from Hong Kong China and India but losing in Semifinals against Lin/Li (CHN).
Krajewski also got another bronze medal in Men’s Doubles with Vitor Tavares (BRA). Both managed to defeat duos from Peru and Canada to reach 3/4 place in the podium along with Jesus Salva and Nilton Quispe (PER).
Vitor Tavares was the only Pan Am athlete to reach a Men’s Singles medal in this World Championships 2024. He defeated players from France, Mexico, China and India to reach Semifinals and get the bronze medal after losing against Krishna Nagar (IND), gold medalist, in a tough match.
World Champions 2022, Giuliana Poveda and Rubi Fernandez, could not defend the title but they did get a bronze medal in Doubles after defeating duos from Ukraine, Hong Kong China and Egypt/USA to reach semifinals. Poveda, who is also Santiago 2023 champion and World Champion 2019 got a bronze medal in Singles after victories against players from India, Hong Kong China, and Poland but lost in Semifinals against Lin (CHN) reaching the 3/4 place in the podium.
