Pan Am Para badminton players from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and United States won medals at the Pan Am Para badminton Championships held in Cali, Colombia from November 22 to 26.

World medalists showed off their best game and climbed to the top of the Pan Am podiums.
World Champion, Pilar Jauregui (PER), won the gold medal in Singles WH2, Women’s Doubles WH1-WH2 with Jaqueline Burgos (PER) and in Mixed Doubles WH1-W2 along with Rodolfo Cano (BRA).
Giuliana Poveda and Nilton Quispe, runners-up at World Championships Tokyo 2022, won the gold in Mixed Doubles SH6. Poveda Also won the gold in Single SH6 while Nilton won the silver in Singles SH6 and in Doubles SH6 along with Jesus Salva. Giuliana Poveda and Rubi Fernandez, champions in Tokyo 2022 won the bronze in Doubles SH6 and Ruby also won a bronze medal in Singles and Doubles with Jesus Salva.
Miles Krajewski (USA) is the new Pan Am Para badminton Champion in SH6 (featured image). He won the gold in Singles SH6 after defeating the defending champion, Vitor Tavares (BRA). Both won the gold in Doubles SH6 showing a great game like in Tokyo where they won the silver medal. Krajewski also won a silver medal in Mixed Doubles SH6 along with Jayci Simon (USA).
Jaime Aranguiz (CHI) won the gold in Singles WH2 and is the new Pan Am Para badminton Champion. He defeated Julio Cesar Godoy (BRA), defending champion, in straigh games (21-14, 21-14). Aranguiz also won 2 bronze medals. One in Doubles along with Victor Aragon (COL) and the other in Mixed Doubles along with Ana Gomes (BRA).
Manuel Del Rosario (CUB) is the new Pan Am Para badminton Champion in SU5. He defeated the defending champion, Eduardo Oliveira (BRA) in Semifinals, and Yuki Rodrigues (BRA) in the final to reach the podium top. Del Rosario also won a bronze medal in Doubles SU5 along with Ricardo Cavalli (BRA).
In SL 3 William Roussy (CAN) defeated the defending champion, Pedro Pablo De Vinatea (PER), in the final and is the new Pan Am Para badminton Champion. Roussy also won a bronze medal in Doubles with Pascal Lapointe (CAN).
Rogerio De Oliveira (BRA) also defeated a defending champion to win the gold. In Quarter final, Rogerio defeated Raul Anguiano (GUA) and them Renzo Bances in Semifinals and Max Avila in the Final to become the SL4 Champion. Rogerio also won the gold in Mixed Doubles along with Edwarda Dias (BRA).
Brazilians Marcelo Alves (WH1), Daniele Souza (WH1), Ana Reis (SL4), Adriane Avila (SL3), Eduardo Oliveira/Yuki Rodrigues (SU5), Marcelo Alves/Julio Cesar Godoy (WH1-WH2), Ana Reis/Abinaecia Da Silva (SL3-SU5) and peruvians Renzo Bances/Pedro Pablo De Vinatea (SL3-SL4) and Diana Rojas (SU5) also won the gold in their modalities.
The Medals Ceremony was led by Mr. Vishu Tolan, president of Badminton Pan Am, Mr. Zarko Cukic, Deputy Chair of Events, Mrs. Pilar Carrillo, BWF Council Member and a representative of the local Sports Secretariat.
The Pan Am Para badminton Championships 2022 had 21 events from 22 that will be included in the next Parapan Am Games 2023. Good luck to all athletes in their Road to Santiago 2023.
