Pan Am Para badminton Athletes from Brazil, Peru and USA won medals at Brazil Para badminton International 2020, held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from February 10 to 15. One of the last events that awarded point for the Road to Tokyo 2020.

SH 6 category was the most winner for our players, where Vitor Tavares and Giuliana Poveda reached the podium top in Singles. Parapan Am Games champion, Vitor Tavares defeated players from China, USA, France, Ireland, England and India to reach de gold medal, while, World Champion, Giuliana Poveda, did the same against athletes from Brazil, Argentina and Peru. Also in WS SH6, Ruby Fernandez won the silver medal.
Our Pan Am players also reached the podium in Mixed Doubles SH6. Giuliana along with Nagar Krishna (IND) won the title after defeating duos from Chinese Taipei, Argentina, Brazil, Ukraine and Peru, where
Jesus Salva and
Ruby Fernandez won the bronze.
Also in Men’s Dubles SH6, Jesus Salva and Miles Krajewski won bronze after defeateing brazilian duo but losing against pairs from France and China.
Pilar Jauregui and
Marcelo Alves won medals in Doubles. Jauregui with Valeska Knoblauch (GER) won bronze in Women’s Doubles WH1-WH2, while Alves did the same in Mixed Doubles with Marcela Quinteros (ESP).
Brazil’s
Adriane Spinetti also climb to the podium in Women Singles SL3 after defeating athletes from France and Ukraine but losing against opponents from India and Turkey.
