Pan Am Para badminton players from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Peru and United States won medals at the Brazil Para Badminton International 2023 held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from April 10 to 16, with participation of outstanding Para badminton players around the world.

World Champion, Pilar Jauregui (PER), won another gold in her career after defeating players from Brazil, Czech Republic and Turkiye to reach the WH2 Women’s Singles podium top. Jauregui also won the gold in Mixed Doubles along with Yuri Ferrigno (ITA) after defeating duos from Brazil, United States and Korea.
Brazilian star, Vitor Tavares, won a silver medal in Singles and Doubles. In Singles, Tavares defeated players from Peru and France in different stages to reach the Final where he lost again Chu Man Kai (HKG). In Doubles Tavares along with Miles Krajewski (USA) defeated duos from Brazil, Canada and France to reach the final where they lost against Daesung/Meechai from Korea/Thailand.
Giuliana Poveda (PER) reached the silver medal in Women’s Singles SH6 after defeating players from Brazil, United States and Poland but losing in the final against Nithya Sumathy (IND).
Miles Krajewski/Jayci Simon (USA) and Jesus Salva/Rubi Fernandez (PER) won the silver in Mixed Doubles SH6.
Others bronze medals were for Jaime Aranguiz (CHI), Osvaldo Junior, Milani Gomes (BRA) in Mixed Doubles WH1-WH2, Maria Gilda Dos Santos (BRA) in WS WH2 and Ana Gomes/Daniele Souza (BRA) in Women’s Doubles WH1-WH2.
Pan Am region were weel represented by players from Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Peru, United States, and host Brazil, who are looking for the qualification to Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games.
