Pan Am Para badminton athletes stood out at the 4 Nations Para badminton International 2024, Level 1 event held in Scotland from June 19 to 23.

There were 4 nations from our continent that obtained medals in this tournament thanks to the performance of their athletes: Brazil, Canada, Chile and Peru.
Our already qualified to 2024 Paralympic Games: Giuliana Poveda, Vitor Tavares, Pilar Jauregui, Jaime Aranguiz, Yuka Chokyu and Daniele Souza got medals in this event as follows.
Poveda reached the silver medal in Women’s Singles SH6 after lead the Group B with victories against players from Egypt, Chinese Taipei and Ukraine. She also defeated Rachel Choong (ENG) in Semifinals but lost against Sumathy (IND) in the final.
Giuliana also won a bronze medal in Mixed Doubles along with Nilton Quispe (PER), losing in semifinals against Subhan/Marlina (INA).
For the SH6 Men’s side, Vitor Tavares got the bronze in singles after defeating players from England, France and Indonesia but losing in semifinals against Chu Man Kai (HGK) in straight games.
PIlar Jauregui won the bronze medal in the Women’s Singles WH2 event after defeating players from Korea and India. In Semifinals, Jauregui faced Gyeoul Jung (KOR) again (she faced each other during group stage) and lost by 21-16, 21-13, reaching the 3/4 places of the event.
Yuka Chokyu (CAN), Daniele Souza (BRA) and Ana Gomes (BRA) won bronze medals in Women’s Doubles WH1- WH2 event, while in Mixed Doubles WH1-WH2 Jaime Aranguiz (CHI), with Milena Griffith (IRL) and Mikhail Bilenki (CAN) with Yuka Chokyu (CAN) shared the gold and silver medals respectively.
