Peru Future Series Champions – Pan Am Circuit 2023

Pan Am Players from El Salvador, Jamaica, Mexico, United States and host Peru took the podiums at the Peru Future Series 2023, Pan Am Circuit event held in Lima, Peru, from June 14 to 18.

Ines Castillo (PER) was one of the most outstanding, winning gold in Singles, Doubles with Paula la Torre and the silver medal in Mixed Doubles with Jose Guevara.

Castillo started the Singles Event as a seeded 1, defeating players from Peru and Mexico to reach the final where she defeated Fernanda Saponara in straight games. Mexicans Haramara Gaitan and Sabrina Solis won the bronze medals of the event.

In Womens Doubles, Castillo and La Torre defeated locals duos to reach the crown, including seeded 2 duo, Fernanda and Rafaella Munar. Sofia Junco/Carla Valdivia (PER) and Fatima Centeno/Daniela Hernandez (ESA) reached the 3/4 places.

Paula La Torre also won a second gold medal in Mixed Doubles along with Diego Mini. starting as seeded 2, Mini/La Torre defeated duos from Peru and Argentina to reach the final, where they faced seeded 1 duo Jose Guevara/Ines Castillo, winning in straight games 21-17 and 21-13. Samuel Ricketts/Tahlia Richardson (JAM) and Sharum Durand/Namie Miyahira (PER) won the bronze medals.

Jamaican Samuel Ricketts also reached the gold medal in Men’s Doubles. Playing with Kelvin Koon (ENG), Ricketts defeated duos from Peru and Germany to reach the final where they defeated Daniel La Torre/Diego Subauste (PER) 21-17 and 21-11 to won the crown. Pongratz/Wagener (GER) and Guevara/Mini (PER) reached the 3/4 places of the event.

Justin Ma and Mark Alcala (USA), seeded 1 and 2 respectively, reached bronze medals in Singles after several victories but losing in Semifinals against Indonesian players.
