Starting an Olympic Year

2020 will be a year full of badminton competitions and activities throughout our region.

Check here the BPAC Events Calendar.

To all these exciting tournaments in our region, the different training activities for coaches and players will be added to continue the development of our sport at all levels.

The year stars with Para badminton events: Brazil Para badminton International and Peru Para badminton International will be held on February.

These two tournaments are very important for our athletes who are looking for the Paralympic Games qualification, since these tournaments are one of the last considered within the qualification period.

The Badminton Pan Am Male & Female Cup 2020, continental team event with qualifying options to Thomas & Uber Cup Finals, is the first conventional tournament in our region.

In March, the traditional Giraldilla International will have its 21st edition, also Jamaica International and Peru Future Series will mark the beginnig of the Pan Am Circuit 2020. The first Junior International event of the year: 2nd Brazil International Junior 2020, will be held this month also.

The Pan Am Individual Championships gives this month a special emotion, not only because it is an important continental tournament, but because this year will be the last tournament that will score points for the Tokyo 2020 qualification.

In April, Peru and Canada will also have high-level tournaments.

The Thomas & Uber Cup Finals will be held on May, with the winners of the Badminton Pan Am Male & Female Cup 2020 as representatives of our region.

Canada will host a Para badminton event in June, and United States will held the US Open 2020 in California, the only BWF World Tour event in Pan Am region.

July will fill us with emotion with the Pan Am Junior 2020 in Acapulco, Mexico, and the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Also in July, AirBadminton will be played for the first time in our region during the Pan Am Junior 2020.

Tokyo 2020 will have the very first participation of Para badminton at Paralympic Games, and that will be the center of attention in August.

Guatemala and Mexico will host tournaments in September, and Brazil, Chile and Dominican Republic will do the same in October.

Para badminton players will shine again in November when the Pan Am Para badminton Championships stars in Colombia.

Guatemala, Suriname and El Salvador will close the Pan Am Circuit 2020 with tournaments at the end of the year.
