During April, Badminton Pan Am in cooperation with Panam Sports, developed a Players Training Camp in the framework of the Pan Am Individual Championships 2023 in Kinsgton, Jamaica.
The programme sessions of the camp included technical and tactical concepts and for the first-time, exercises for doubles players were incorporated in the training under the guidances of head coaches Martijn Van Dooremalen (NED) and Claus Poulsen (DEN), in an effort to increase the confidence and ability of participants towards upcoming tournaments.
Seeking to empower players with a view to the next Pan American Games Santiago 2023, 35 athletes from 17 countries participated in this training Camp delivered in conjunction with the support of Panam Sports and GC Foster College.
In parallel, a Coach Experience activity was conducted with participation of 16 coaches from 15 different countries, working with athletes during training sessions and having evening workshops on specific topics, led by head coaches Pulsen and Van Dooremalen.
Thanks to Panam Sports for the support to the development of badminton in the region with this training camp and for the presence of Mr. Ricardo Probert, Sports Director of Panam Sports, who shared some days with the players and encouraged them.
