His last participation in Pan Am Junior Championships was in 2013, where Mexico hosted the XXII Pan Am Junior Championship and Ygor, in U19, won his 12th Pan Am gold medal.

The important results he achieved and his outstanding style of play allowed him to reach the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

In 2015, Ygor participated in his first Pan Am Games , in Toronto, where he fell to defending champion Kevin Cordon in the Quarterfinals.

The Rio 2016 Olympic Games allowed him to continue growing in his game and be in the eyes of the whole world by being the first Brazilian to participate in the badminton competition at an Olympic Games.

Coelho was crowned Pan American champion in 2017 and 2018 by winning the Pan American Championships played in Cuba and Guatemala respectively.

Now, our Pan American champion continues to prepare for his next big goal: his second Olympic participation at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, so he will participate in major events around the world such as the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2019 that will be held in Basel, Switzerland this month.
