Starting as seeded 1 in Women’s Singles, Beiwen managed to defeat players from Japan, Peru, and Chinese Taipei to reach the Final of the event where she faced Nidaira (JPN) but losing in a 3-games-match (21-17, 18-21, 22-24).
“I just kept talking to myself, but I made so many unforced errors. Playing in front of the home court is a lot of pressure, because everyone is telling me they wanted to see me win. I feel these kind of close matches you never know who’s going to win.” – refered Zhang after her conquer.
Xu twins also got a good result in Women’s Doubles. Annie and Kerry defeated duos from Chinese Taipei and Ukraine to reach semifinals where they lost again Iwanaga/Nakanishi (JPN), reaching the 3/4 places of the event.
Also others Pan Am players showed good performance reaching quarter finals, like Uriel Canjura (ESA), Francesca Corbet/Alisson Lee (USA), Chen Zhi Yi/Francesca Corbet (USA), Joshua Yuan/Chloe Ho (USA), Chen Zhi Yi/Presley Smith (USA).
The Pan Am Circuit continues with another BWF World Tour event: Canada Open 2024 during this week.
